18Svea is a micro “18XX” game that can be played in less than 2 hours by 2-3 experienced players. The players are railroad entrepreneurs who foresee an opportunity to make money by establishing five railroad companies that develop the railroad network coast-to-coast across “Svealand", the middle part of Sweden. The game contains five fictional train companies based in different Swedish cities: Stockholm, Göteborg, Norrköping, Jönköping, and Örebro.  

A game of 18Svea takes place during a series of stock rounds (SR), when players manage their investments in the five companies; and operating rounds (OR), when railroad companies owned by the players expand their rail network, establish stations, run trains, and generate money for their shareholders. When the game ends after a total of four SRs and seven ORs, the player with the highest combined wealth in money and company shares wins.
