Wave 6 Status Update – Where Things Stand

Last updated: April 22, 2026
If you are waiting on a Wave 6 preorder, you have been waiting far longer than originally promised. Some of you placed orders years ago, spent significant money, and still do not have a finished product. That frustration is valid, and I want to address it directly and clearly.

Current Status: Final Design & Production

Wave 6 games are still in the final design and production stages. This means:

  • Remaining error checking is ongoing now. I have a small team helping with this. Doing this properly has been most of the hold up and it is on me
  • Files are not yet in mass manufacturing
  • Shipping fulfillment has not begun
  • Progress has continued, but much more slowly than initially planned, and previous timelines were overly optimistic

In-stock game orders (no preorder games) are shipping as they are ordered, turnaround times for processing orders are typically less than one week, but I am going to try to get this number down too.

Updated Timeline Expectations

Based on the current state of development and a more realistic assessment of remaining work:

  • Wave 6 completion including shipping games is currently projected for completion by the end of 2026
  • This is not a shipping guarantee, but an best estimate intended to avoid further disappointment
  • If this timeline does not work for you, I understand. Customers who prefer not to continue waiting may contact here: https://all-aboardgames.com/pages/order-questions Refunds are not possible for PayPal payments over 6 months and I hope suggesting this will not further add to the workload significantly, but I can offer a credit for in stock games or send a payment minus fees if necessary. Direct card payments are typically possible to refund

Commitment Going Forward
I recognize that long periods without clear updates have made this experience worse. Going forward, my commitment is to:

  • Provide regular, public updates even when progress is slow
  • Be explicit about what has and has not changed
  • Avoid optimistic projections that cannot be supported

Wave 6 is not abandoned, and it is not forgotten. It is active work in progress, but it is also taking far longer than any of us wanted.

I appreciate the patience many of you have shown, and I understand the frustration from those who are understandably upset. This page will remain the central source of truth for Wave 6 updates.

Next Update

The next Wave 6 update will be posted on May 22.

Wave 7 and Future

In the meantime, you Wave 7 is on the back burner, but if you would like to be involved, the Wave 7 poll is still open. Once Wave 6 is in production, I'l be able to start on Wave 7 more earnestly, although as more of a hobby level effort, no orders until it is ready for mass production (a few months before first shipments can go out with no schedule uncertainty). There are three main candidates that all have over 350 votes (looking for 400 to move ahead) so that has proved the interest is there

  • System18 even crossed 400 votes now
  • 18Uruguay 395 votes
  • 1833 1/3 I'm sure will get there with successful Wave 6 delivery

If you have some interest in small 18xx games (though requiring some manual effort) System18 really has a great ecosystem going and could just use some more players. Lots of Print and Play files are recently posted and updated. A good way to get involved is to post about your interest and there is a good team of participants that can help you.

18Uruguay is on 18xx.games for playtesting and 1833 1/3 is being tested by Mike Hutton at UK conventions.
